Daphne and Shaun are Married - Gramercy Lakeside Manor Wedding | Daniel Nydick NJ NY PA Destination Wedding Photographer

Last time you saw Daphne & Shaun on my blog, it was when we were celebrating a love that had burned slow and steady for years…a love that led us to spending an evening capturing their love during an engagement session, Asbury Park style.

Since it worked so well when I put together Daphne & Shaun’s engagement session blog, I thought I’d turn the mic over to both of them one more time. What better way to hear it than from the happy newlyweds themselves!

How and where did you meet?
Daphne attended a wedding for a close friend, in May of 2015. At the wedding, Daphne sat with another friend, Eliana and her then boyfriend, now husband, Randy. While conversing, Eliana and Randy realized that Daphne and Randy’s brother, Shaun would be a great match. Eliana gave Daphne’s number to Shaun and he contacted Daphne soon after the wedding. Shaun and Daphne had their first date shortly after the wedding and they were inseparable ever since.

What’s kept you together?
Our love and respect for each other first and foremost. The consistent desire we share to be together whether we're exploring another country or sitting across from each other on the couch at home talking. We put each other before ourselves, we consistently communicate our feelings, our zest for life, the excitement we share for our future, and an overflowing sense of humor.

What are some fun things you do together as a couple and with friends?
When we go out we enjoy delicious dinners with cocktails and conversation. We're a pretty easy going couple. So whether it's a BBQ, an afternoon hike, a day at the beach, or just lounging at someone's house, we surround ourselves with good people and good vibes and that's enough for us.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We went to Aruba and had an unforgettable experience!

What are your family plans for the future?
We definitely want at least two kids in the near future.

What’s new since being married? What’s solidified/bonded/grown since?
It's a fun feeling when referring to one another as "my wife" or "my husband" Everything feels the same as it did prior to the wedding, but now it feels extra special. There's a certain air around us. It's fun to look down at our rings and remember our wedding day.

Why did you choose The Gramercy at Lakeside Manor, what do you love about it?
From the moment we were greeted at the door we loved The Gramercy at Lakeside Manor. The decor was clean, bright, contemporary, and elegant. We loved the private suite for the wedding party, the cocktail lounge room and main reception area. In addition, we loved that the new couple enters the reception down a flight of stairs to add to the drama of our entrance.

What were your favorite memories of your wedding day?
We really loved every aspect of the wedding. But we really loved entering the reception down the stairs as Mr. and Mrs. for the first time, our first dance, and seeing and feeling all the love and excitement from our friends and family.

How has your relationship grown over the years?
We really feel that our love has grown stronger with each year. And with each year, our appreciation for each other has increased which it inspires us want to do more and more for each other. Over the years we have been able to learn from each other in terms of improving who we are as individuals and grow into a solid union. And since we've only been together for less than four years, we continue to discover new things about each other through stories and old stories from our pasts.

Thank you Dean, and the staff at The Gramercy at Lakeside Manor for such great treatment of not only Daphne, Shaun, and their guests; but of me and my team as well!.

Thank you to Canon for the 5DMKIV cameras and L lenses that act like an extension of my being, Holdfast for the Money Maker system that holds both my camera bodies at my side while staying comfortable and stylish, Godox for the quick recycling, consistent and reliable lighting, and MagMod for the one of a kind lighting modifiers that make setup and execution a snap.

Thanks to my second shooter; Gerardo, for the groom prep awesomesauce and the alternate angles all day long. Also, thanks to my assistant; John, for hauling gear, holding lights, and keeping me happy and hydrated.
